Six months after being released from a state hospital following an intense mental breakdown, June slowly is putting her life back together. With a new boyfriend and a steady gig as a nightclub singer at the local jazz club, she is determined to leave her destructive past behind her and move forward in this new life. That is until her estranged actress mother comes into town for an extended stay and old wounds are resurrected while new ones are freshly cast.

June is a devastating portrait of a woman bound by the need for maternal affection, the collateral damage of artistic aspiration and how one woman navigates the violent terrain of emotional abandonment.
