Six months after being released from a state hospital following an intense mental breakdown, June slowly is putting her life back together. With a new boyfriend and a steady gig as a nightclub singer at the local jazz club, she is determined to leave her destructive past behind her and move forward in this new life. June is a devastating portrait of a woman bound by the need for maternal affection, the collateral damage of artistic aspiration and how one woman navigates the violent terrain of emotional abandonment.
